from the Airport
By public transport (~60 – 70 minutes)
Check the public transport timetable and maps www.rmv.de
- From the airport take the S-Bahn S8 or S9 (direction Hanau) to Frankfurt city.
- Get off at Hauptwache (2 stops), transfer to the U8 (direction Riedberg).
- Get off at Uni Campus Riedberg (14 stops) turn right and walk down to the Institute (~5 minutes).
By taxi (~35 minutes)
Costs: ~60 - 65 €from Frankfurt Main Station
By public transport (~40 minutes)

- From Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof (lower level) take any S-Bahn S1 – S9 to Hauptwache.
- Get off at Hauptwache (2 stops), transfer to the U8 (direction Riedberg).
- Get off at Uni Campus Riedberg (14 stops) turn right and walk down to the Institute (~5 minutes).
By taxi (~20 minutes)
Costs: ~26 €by Car
The Institute ist located at the University Campus Riedberg, in the north of Frankfurt (Main). It’s close to the “Bad Homburger Kreuz” of the motorway A5.
- From the “Bad Homburger Kreuz” please take the A661 in the direction of “Offenbach”.
- Take the second exit “Heddernheim, Riedberg” and you will drive on the “Marie-Curie-Straße”.
- Take a right turn to the “Altenhöfer Allee” at the (second) traffic lights.
- Go left at the first roundabout to the “Max-von-Laue-Straße”
- The institute is situated on your left-hand side.
Parking
Available on-campus and a small number of parking lots are available for temporary visitors next to the main entrance to the west of the building. Ask at the porter's lodge how to get access to the Institute's main car park (with a barrier) on the south of the building. See also University Campus Riedberg map below.
