Visual Proteomics Becomes Dynamic

The ultimate goal is to assign a probability to each voxel, or three-dimensional data point, in cryo-electron tomograms to determine whether it is part of a specific macromolecular structure or subcellular feature. To address structural heterogeneity, molecular dynamics simulations will be employed, and synthetic data will be used to estimate statistical confidence, specificity, and sensitivity. Integrating these advanced experimental and computational techniques into a unified workflow will greatly enhance the accuracy of visual proteomics. Sharing high-quality proteomics and imaging data, along with open-source software, will empower the broader scientific community.
